Tuesdays    9:00-10:00 a.m.
First Baptist Church Rooms 108-110
In-person only

This course will show you how to recognize and avoid common scams, often using real life examples that took place recently in Georgetown and elsewhere. We will focus on scams that tend to hit U.S. citizens aged 60 and over, and we will spend extra time on the most dangerous scams, including romance and financial scams. You will learn how AI (artificial intelligence) is rapidly changing some of the scams. We will discuss the scam risks of some common ways of making payments. Although this is not a cybersecurity class, we will also discuss some aspects of online safety.
