Winterizing Your Trees – Thursday, October 16th, 2025
Central Texas winters can be tough on trees! On Thursday, October 16th Join Dr. Stephanie Adams, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension Tree Specialist, for her informative program “Winterizing Your Trees”, from 6:00pm – 7:30pm at 100 Wilco Way in Georgetown.
Well-maintained trees add value to a home; property values of landscaped homes are 5%-20% higher than non-landscaped homes! Homes shaded by trees incur lower air-conditioning costs and heating costs can also be reduced with trees acting as a windbreak. This hour and a half long program is going to prepare you to take the best care of your valuable trees this coming winter. Some of the topics covered will be:
- Effective winter watering
- Mulching
- Proper tree wrapping for protection during freezes
- When to prune
- And more!
Please register at https://williamson.agrilife.org/program-registration/. The cost for this program is $10.00, payable at the door with cash or a check. We do not accept credit cards or electronic payments. If you have any questions regarding this program, please contact 512-943-3300 or email pam.lovelace@ag.tamu.edu.
