Dr. Peterson received his MA degree from Union Theological Seminary and his PhD from Harvard. Before retirement in 2002 he was the Margaret Root Brown Professor of Fine Arts at Southwestern University for 37 years. Dr. Peterson was organist for Georgetown’s First United Methodist Church and is the artistic director of Festival of the Arts in Georgetown.
