Ken Peters grew up near Georgetown, in Copperas Cove, Texas, and received his B.A. degree from
Southwestern University. He did graduate work at the University of Texas, obtaining the M.A. and Ph.D.
degrees, and later teaching American history at Texas A&M. In 1980 he began his second career in the
Presbyterian ministry, earning the M.Div. degree from Austin Presbyterian Seminary and retiring from
New Braunfels Presbyterian Church.
